Terms of service
These terms are the contract between you and us for using OwnVitals. They sit beside the privacy policy, which says what we hold and how it is protected. Creating an account, signing in from a phone, or continuing to use the service after a material change means you accept them.
Last updated 9 September 2026.
Who we are
OwnVitals is operated by Prado Consulting Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, number 17312359, registered office Solutions House, Unit 10 Deepmore Close, Station Road, Wolverhampton, England, WV10 7DB.
Questions about these terms: info@ownyourvitals.com.
The service
OwnVitals is a personal health record and analysis product. You bring readings from a device export or from a companion app, see them in dashboards and reports you configure, optionally share parts of them with people you choose, and optionally ask an AI model for an interpretation of derived figures.
It is not medical care. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and it does not monitor emergencies or contact emergency services. Scores, bands, alerts and analyses are tools for reflection on measurements you already have — not clinical advice. If something about your health worries you, talk to a clinician.
Accounts
You need an account to use the hosted service. You may create one with email and password, or with Apple or Google where those options are configured. You are responsible for the credentials you choose and for activity under your account.
Provide accurate contact details, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you believe the account has been compromised. We may suspend or close an account that is used abusively, that endangers other people’s data, or that we are required by law to refuse.
An anonymous guest session may exist for a short try-before-you-commit period. Guests that are never claimed are deleted automatically; claiming one turns it into a normal account and keeps the data already imported.
Beta
While OwnVitals is marked as beta, the product is unfinished on purpose. Features may change, break or disappear. In exchange, paid plans and add-ons are not charged during the beta: entitlements are open so you can try the product as it will behave later.
Creating an account during the beta means you agree to that bargain for the wording then in force. When the beta ends, ordinary pricing and plan limits apply as described in the product at that time. We will say so in the product rather than relying on these terms alone.
Your data and your control
You decide what enters the product: an export you upload, or readings a companion app sends after you grant OS permissions. Sharing with a family member or a coach happens only through a grant you create, with the scope you set, and you can withdraw it at any time.
You can export a machine-readable copy of your data and delete your account from Settings. Deletion removes the account and the health data behind it, subject to the limits described in the privacy policy (including backups that age out, and notes somebody else already took from a share that was live at the time).
If you self-host OwnVitals, you operate the service: these terms then describe software you run, and we are not a party to how you use it for yourself or others.
Companion apps
The iPhone and Android apps are bridges to your OwnVitals account. They read Apple Health or Health Connect only with permission you grant on the phone, send those readings to the server you pair with, and do not show charts or run advertising or analytics SDKs. You can disconnect a phone or revoke Health permissions at any time.
AI analysis
AI analysis is optional. When you run it, a packet of derived figures that you can review is sent to Google’s Gemini API with your question. Individual readings, your name and your email are not sent. Use of that feature is also subject to Google’s terms for the API. You can use the rest of OwnVitals without ever using it.
Plans and billing
Plan names, allowances and add-ons are defined in the product. During the beta they are free as described above. When billing is connected, charges, renewals and cancellations will follow the prices and flows shown at the point of purchase. Nothing in these terms invents a charge that the product does not yet collect.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use OwnVitals to provide regulated clinical care you are not authorised to provide;
- attempt to access another person’s account or health data without a valid share grant;
- probe, overload or disrupt the service, or reverse-engineer it beyond what the law allows;
- upload unlawful content, or content you have no right to hold;
- create accounts for children under 16 (an adult may hold a child’s readings in a family space only where they have the right to do so — see the privacy policy).
Availability
We aim to keep the hosted service available, but we do not promise uninterrupted access. Maintenance, faults, upstream outages and force majeure can and will happen. Companion sync depends on the phone, the OS health store and network conditions outside our control.
Intellectual property
OwnVitals software, branding and documentation remain ours (and our licensors’). Your readings and the content you create in the product remain yours. You grant us only the licence needed to host, process and display them so the service works as described — including sharing them with people you explicitly grant, and sending derived packets to Gemini when you ask for an analysis.
Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. In particular we do not warrant that scores, alerts or AI write-ups are complete, accurate or suitable for any medical decision.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be limited under English law.
Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, or loss of data beyond restoring what backups still hold after a fault on our side. Our total liability for claims arising out of the service in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of £100 and the fees you paid us for OwnVitals in that period (which, during a free beta, means £100).
Ending the agreement
You can stop at any time by deleting your account. We may end or suspend access if you materially breach these terms, if we shut the hosted service down, or if law requires it. Provisions that by nature should survive — including intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits and governing law — survive termination.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the product. The date at the top is always the current version. Continued use after a material change is acceptance of the new terms; if you disagree, delete your account before continuing.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live in the UK or EEA.
